Rank is proud to announce it has raised an incredible £3.5 million for unpaid carers as it approaches its ten-year anniversary of partnering with Carers Trust.
The significant fundraising milestone has been achieved just before Christmas, thanks to the unwavering support of our colleagues and customers since 2014.
Funds were raised through a myriad of activities, including sports challenges, donations, payroll giving, and fundraising. This money has been used to provide support to more than 13,780 unpaid carers – providing essential household items, much-needed respite breaks, caring-related transport costs, digital equipment to enable them to communicate with family and friends, and courses to develop skills outside of their caring role, or that will help them in their roles.
Rank’s CEO, John O’Reilly, said:
“I am delighted that, as we approach our 10-year anniversary of supporting Carers Trust, we have successfully raised £3.5 million for unpaid carers through the outstanding fundraising efforts of our dedicated colleagues and the generosity of our customers. The unwavering support of colleagues over these ten years shows their huge commitment to the vitally important support Carers Trust provides to unpaid carers across the UK.”
Carers Trust’s CEO, Kirsty McHugh, said:
“The announcement that Rank has reached £3.5m in fundraising is the perfect Christmas present for all of us at Carers Trust and our network of local carer organisations. Rank’s support has been absolutely vital over the past 10 years in our fight to help unpaid carers across the country. Many are being plunged into poverty by their caring role and every grant can make a massive difference to their lives. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and customers at Rank, Grosvenor Casinos and Mecca Bingo for their unwavering commitment.”
