Safer gambling is at the heart of everything we do at Rank; we cannot deliver exciting and entertaining experiences without creating a safe environment for our customers. We are therefore driving a culture where safer gambling is embedded in every decision we make, no matter the role.
We promote awareness for safer gambling in every one of our venues and across all our online platforms. Customers are provided with tools they can use to control and have more awareness of their play, and there is continual monitoring for signs of at-risk play. We are constantly evolving our safer gambling processes, from utilising new technology, to upskilling our colleagues, to ensure continuous improvement.
‘Let’s Talk about Safer Gambling’
Safer Gambling Week is an annual cross-industry campaign aimed at raising awareness of safer gambling across the UK and Ireland. It focuses on highlighting how to enjoy gambling more safely and the practical tools and resources available year-round to help customers stay in control, and signposts further advice and support services for those who need it.
We are marking this year’s Safer Gambling Week with a series of initiatives. Across our social media channels, we are highlighting the importance of responsible play, in line with the theme ‘Let’s Talk about Safer Gambling’. Within our venues, we have a host of additional resources to promote Safer Gambling Week and call attention to the tools and support provided by Rank and the wider industry.
To spark conversation across the business, we are holding masterclasses on a range of topics including vulnerable customers and anti-money laundering. These will be held across the week, alongside a number of other colleague activities plus daily updates on best practices and safer gambling processes.
Adele Farrell, Director of Compliance & Responsible Gambling at Rank, said:
“Through investment we have developed in-house technologies to proactively monitor, detect and provide targeted customer protections, which is a central part of building a safe and sustainable gambling environment. And while data and monitoring play a key and important role in player protection, our strength is our people. By investing in the development of our people through regular and bespoke colleague training, we build confident teams that will identify new and better ways of approaching safer gambling. Our colleague knowledge, experience and personal connections with customers within our venues truly make a difference.“
